Hey guys! Brad Jones of thecinemasnob.com recently cast me in his web miniseries “The Hooker with a Heart of Gold”. I appear in the last episode as a mercenary sent to kill the titular character, and while I was there I shot some behind-the-scenes footage just for fun. I also demonstrate the costume and makeup I used for the role in case you want to play a mercenary yourself:

You can see all of “The Hooker with a Heart of Gold” at thecinemasnob.com!

Hooker was very enjoyable. When you first showed up unexpected, I let out a gasp, followed by a huge grin.

And I always love your BTS videos. They’re a great inspiration to the rest of us low-budget filmmakers.

What accent were you trying to pull off in the episode, Ed ‘Mercenary with a Heart of Gold’ Glaser?
Also, great taste in music, ha ha.

Haha, I have no idea. It was kinda gruff Autralio-British? That Duncan’s from everywhere, you know. ;-)

Hilarious as always, Ed.

HINT: Instead of powdered bronzer, you can always buy foundation in a shade or two darker than your skin tone (the spray on stuff, not the liquid stuff), wet a sponge lightly with water (basically, you want it damp) and then apply to face and neck. Also works great on hands and arms. The costuming was pretty good and the vest is awesome! Also, if you ever want a fake tattoo to look like it’s been there awhile, apply some talcum powder over it-it dulls it a bit and looks more realistic. So, besides costumes, I’ve done makeup as well.

So, good job Ed!

Spray-on foundation?! Must have! I don’t think I even knew that was an option… :-P

Thanks a million for the tips, Sabaah! I’ll definitely keep those in mind.

No problem Ed! I only mention it as some bronzers (depending on the company that makes it) can make skin look more orange under certain lights. And the powder can get everywhere you don’t want it to be. That a tip I found useful at my undergrad as we all had to take a section on makeup for stage and film (mainly stage), but the tips are useful for both. So, I am definitely the go to person for costume and makeup advice. :-D
